The total export cargos of 58,710 tonnes comprised of 10,865 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,145 tonnes of rice and 11,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,548 containers comprising of 2,791 containers import and 2,757 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,281 of 20's and 732 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 23 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,441 of 20's and 234 of 40's loaded containers while 354 of 20's and 247 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely CMA CGM Racine, Botany Bay and Eastern Azalea carrying containers and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Ever Union, Wieland and Kota Karim carrying containers respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 192,814 tonnes comprising 165,264 tonnes of import cargo and 27,550 tonnes of export cargo including 4,130 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 165,264 tonnes includes 12,300 tonnes of palm oil; 5,432 tonnes of palm kernel; 13,017 tonnes of soyabean; 63,000 tonnes of coal; 3,020 tonnes of mogas and 68,495 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,550 tonnes includes 17,575 tonnes of cement and 9,975 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,130 containers comprising of 3,605 containers import and 525 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely MV Africa Griffon carrying coal sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship namely CV Maersk Pittsburgh carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, cement, soyabean, palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen vessels viz. MV BBC Africa, MV Hong Yuan, MV Orange Harmony, MV Tegea, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV Equinox Agnadoussa, MV Oslo Venture, MV Fila Joy, MT GL Cosmos, MT Torm Sovereign and MT Gao Cheng-2 respectively carrying project cargo, soyabean, coal, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Conti Darwin, MV Chemroad Lily and MT GL Cosmos carrying containers, chemical and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wedesday.
There was one ship namely CV Conti Darwin carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while two ships namely CV Hansa America and CV Tocapel carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
